Condors Summer 2019 BBQ!

It was a beautiful day in Condorsland with sunny skies and warm temps setting the perfect scene for our annual BBQ & Potluck Picnic!

HUGE thanks to all 150 people who came out: it was great for returning and new Condors families to meet and hang out together!

We are so grateful to Matt & Kary, Chase and Corbin Carkner for coming all the way from Connecticut and for providing the hamburgers & hotdogs! It was also amazing to have Kyle & Julie and their kiddoes with us celebrating another terrific Condors season in the books!

An awesome and super memorable moment was when Condor Tysen Lefebvre was able to reveal a Wish for Condor Chloe Lawson! She is going to visit the set of Fuller House and she and her family couldn’t be more thrilled! The Condors family was of course so proud and honoured to be there to celebrate with Chloe!

Thanks to everyone for a great BBQ and we’ll see you at the rink soon!

GO CONDORS!!

Kyle Turris Capital City Condors Golf Tourney a HUGE success!

We can’t thank everyone enough, from our golf committee to our sponsors to our donors to our golfers to our volunteers to Kyle & Julie to Mark & Tara to Matt & Kary and Condors players and families!

We are so thrilled to announce that we raised just over $98 000!!!

That blew away our record from last year and we are do grateful to everyone who worked so hard to help us keep on making hockey dreams come true for those who otherwise wouldn’t have the chance to play!

GO CONDORS!

The Condors skate with the Ottawa Senators at the CTC!

Monday, Oct. 22, 2018 will go down in Condors history as one of the most incredible days we’ve ever had! Thanks to our Honorary Captain Mark Borowiecki and his wife Tara, the Ottawa Senators players. coaches and staff for the life-long memories that were made and the dreams that came true!

It was so amazing for our parents and volunteers to see the Sens players and coaches doing passing, stick-handling and shooting drills with our players while huge smiles, hugs and high-fives were all around. I think the Sens might’ve even gotten a few playing and coaching tips from the Condors!

In all the hustle and bustle of life – it’s really good to stop and take time to enjoy some really special moments.
GO CONDORS and GO SENS!

Condors 2018-2019 WELCOME!!

Welcome to our website, we’re happy you’re here! For those who are new, here’s a little info about our team:

The Condors run from the first Saturday of October through to the end of March. We have 5 icetimes divided between 2 arenas at either end of the city: Jack Charron Arena in Kanata and Earl Armstrong Arena in Gloucester.

The Condors Coaches, parents, and sometimes players collaboratively, work together when deciding the group placement. Placements are made based on the following considerations:

•ability (physical & cognitive): we want to ensure that each and every player is safe, has fun, and is challenged to grow and develop

•age/physical size: again, physical safety is of vital importance

•social interactions: we want our players to LOVE their team – teammates often become very close friends whose relationships go far beyond the hockey rink, so social considerations are also extremely important to the Condors!

Group 1 is our “learn-to-skate” and assistive devices group and always skate from 2-3pm at Jack Charron. Groups 2 through 5 rotate bi-weekly between the two rinks but always remain in the same time slot. Group 5 is our advanced hockey skills group and groups 2, 3, and 4 fall in-between those two.

The Condors enjoy many social activities throughout the year including our amazing Hallow’een and Christmas parties and our legendary End of Season Banquet! We also have optional tournaments both here and away, ball hockey and dragon boating in the summer and of course, our Annual Kyle Turris Capital City Condors Golf Tournament!

If you have any questions about joining the Condors, please don’t hesitate to email our GM, Shana Perkins: gm@capitalcitycondors.org

The Condors are committed to doing everything they possibly can to make hockey dreams come true. We are inclusive of both cognitive and cognitive+physical disabilities because we believe #hockeyreallyisforeveryone and we #chooseinclusion
